Sterling, IL (December 13, 2017) For the past four years, the CGH Medical Center Auxiliary has helped light up Sterling by sponsoring the Healthy & Bright holiday lights on the exterior of the hospital and CGH Main Clinic. The CGH Auxiliary is happy to provide these LED light strands, from mid-November through mid-January, to encourage our community, staff and patients.
Several positive comments have been received from the community and CGH employees as these thousands of white lights add brightness to an early morning or the end of a long day. A most inspiring story, however, is that from a patient looking out the window from her hospital bed. This patient, in her final days, found great joy in the lights. She expressed this many times to family gathered around. Upon the patient’s passing, the family designated some memorial money to the CGH Auxiliary for the holiday lights knowing this would bring joy to their mother.
The CGH Auxiliary invites others who are inspired by these lights – whether in memory or in honor of a loved one – to donate to this annual project.
